What is it

Discovered by a mate in the Peel Inlet over the weekend...appears to be some sort of offshore demersal. Based on the feet/rod/reel, am guessing around the 50cm mark. He said it had a plastic bag in its gob. Original colours obviously long gone. All I can think of is red snapper/nanny, but do they have fine, sharp teeth?

That actually makes sense!
Probably someone had an old one in their freezer and was using it for crab bait, were catching f#ckall, packed up early, ditched the bait, etc etc...
