Probably a 2 or 3 would be sufficient Pete.

I've got a Sarca 2 with 8m of chain on my 6.1m ali and it holds it no dramas. The Sarca's do bite and hold pretty good.

6kg doesn't sound like much, but I anchor my 5.65 m glass boat regularly in up to 40m of water, all sorts of bottom, always hold straightaway. I use 6m of 6mm short link chain.

the biggest you can get. if the anchor dont grab at least the weight of the anchor and chain will hold you there .

2 is the go . i have also only used chain to the length of the boat so if its the size you have 5m would be plenty. using a heavy gague.
