Hi Jeff, I went out and bought a few largish sized white lead head jigs that you'd normally toss for sharkies n stuff up north. I removed all the crap hairy stuff off them, drilled a tiny hole into the front of the jig head alongside where the hook goes in and inserted a little hooked shaped piece of stainless wire with superglue to push the plastic over so it hangs onto it and that has always worked pretty well for me. If you want to buy some already made, then try evolution jigheads or similar if the guys on here sell them.

Cheers

Dale

This is what I do mate is buy

This is what I do mate is buy some plastic tubing (like the stuff they use for herring) some large ball sinkers say between 4 and 6 (see below 4 is about 1oz and 7 is about 2 1/3oz) or even larger depending on conditions, remember the lighter you can get away with the better, some good quality split rings in no 5 or 6 and some heavy duty wide gape worm hooks. You can paint your sinkers for extra effect, put a split ring on the eye of the hook (this allows extra movement and action) thread the sinker onto your leader and a short 1cm section of tubing (this will protect your knot from the impact of the sinker), tie on your hook via the split ring and push the tubing over the knot. The worm hooks are designed to be rigged snagless (google texas style) but with a bit of thought can be rigged with the hook point exposed (google Texposed rig), you can also try other hooks such as the Nitro elevators.

Size 1 -7 grams
Size 2 - 10 grams
Size 3 - 15 grams
Size 4 - 29 grams
Size 5 - 37 grams
Size 6 - 47 grams
Size 7 - 65 grams

Good luck, Daisy

The general rule Ive been given for SP out deep, is a gram per metre of water... the heavier the jighead, the more it impacts on the action of the plastic

5/0s will still catch big KGs
