Can someone please tell me what wetline fishing is??
i can't find it anywhere
is it a bit like longlining??

you anchor up on a large showing of fish usually out a fair wack from coast. you use hand or electric winches with up to 15 maybe 20 hooks depending on conditions and fish being targeted. clip on the hooks at intervals and send it down to the bottom. when you can feel a fair weight on the line you crank em up and unclip your fish replacing them with fresh baited ones. you get into a routine and as your sending down the next line you ikki jimi the fish unhook them and re bait ready to keep clipping back on. when the school thins out or you have had enough of the patch you move onto the next patch. the best part is you never fish a school out unlike net fishing where they just hoover the lot. it gets a bit more indepth depending on what boat your on but pretty simple method. good skippers farm their spots and never overfish their patches as it is their livelyhood! but have seen some peanuts as well. the kalbarri boys are very good at looking after their spots.

used to wet line with a hand
used to wet line with a hand line of 100lb with 1 hook. lots of hard work but fun. hands get torn to shreds.

We used to wear short white woollen gloves to stop the line burn but didn't stop you getting spiked when you had to gill and gut every fish

Could never wear gloves wet
Could never wear gloves wet lining especially the white woolen ones after wearing them for 5 minutes they would be soaking set and full of bait juice
