What is your preference and why? Trebles or singles...

Hey guys!! Havnt had a whole lot of experience trolling with lures (being from melbourne of course) and in June this year I will be pretty much fishing for two weeks in this fashion. I was wondering what your advice would be on how to set up my lures, treble or single hooks? I will mostly be using Laser Pro's, Xraps and stuff similar to that chasing Makerel, trevally, tuna and any other pelagic.
If i need to change to singles what are some suggestions on hooks.. brand and size?
Also, if i decide to stay with trebles should I upgrade the hooks already on the lures? Any suggestions for that would be great as well.
Thanks guys, look forward to your responce.

I leave standard trebbles on
I leave standard trebbles on my lures for trolling. They only bend on big fish or if you have a tight drag which you don't really need for trolling unless the sharks are around. I use singles on poppers and stick baits though for easier release and less damage to the fish. If you do decide to run singles the size will really depend on the size of the lure and brand of the hook. Probably better off spending more money on lures rather than upgrading hooks.

Standard trebels will do.
Standard trebels will do. Just make sure you crush ALL the barbs. Seen way to many injuries from thrashing mackies inside the boat.

i am just re rigging my lures
i am just re rigging my lures with decoy seargent N's
the eye is in line with the gape so they attach straight to split ring and they have no offset
we'll see how they go this season
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Decoy Seargants for me too,
Decoy Sergeants for me too, they seem to get thrown less and make much less of a mess for releasing.
