Whats this wire for?? Help please

Hi guys,
Just noticed ive pulled this wire (pic attached) from its fastening at one end on my suzi 90hp 4stroke outboard.
Does anyone know what its for?
Its easy to see where its pulled out but i was out with it yesterday and it didnt seem to effect performance at all or the tilt n trim.
Im guessing its an earth wire??

Only a guess but there does seem to be an earth terminal in the top right of your photo with no wire attached. See if the 2 broken bits match up.

Like straith said, it's easy to see where it came from.
I believe it is just to electrically connect the leg, gearbox and swivel tube to prevent electrolysis.
My fishing spots are so secret........... even the fish don't know where they are !!

Yeah its definitely from the the terminal as you say. I just wasnt sure if it was anything other than an earth point.
