Used to be The West but that is just overdramatised channel 7 cross promotion. News.com at the moment ough that is turning into click bait "you won't believe what this guy did to get a pizza". One good article out of the front page.

WAToday for my local read...

If you want to get the news and not all the avertising "articles" then stick to the ABC.

I download a digital version of the West Australian when I'm away at work, only pay $1.50 instead of the Pilbara price of $2.70 or whatever it is for the paper version in the shop. Apart from that, it's ABC for me too.

It is called paywalling

Access to SMH, for example, certain number per month are free then you need to pay. The Australian, some content is free, much is behind the paywall. They need to charge to make a profit, especially when people like me are using Adblocker or similar. Wouldn't bother with free shit like Perthnow, just full of crap. You get what you pay for, free sites are full of clickbait, often with malicious content. Exception is the ABC, of course.
