Where to put the Watersnake ?

I bought a cheap runnabout(1980's dehavilland 15ft with a 1999 25hp 4stroke merc) back in july and have slowly gone about getting bits together to get to how i want it to be. Anyway i wandered into a garage sale the other day and they had a 54lb Watersnake for sale for $100 so i grabbed it. It's just the basic model with the clamps. Does anyone have any advice on how to mount it in the rear of my boat? I have put it on and out of the way from the main engine but when i tryed it out i span around in circles!

Had same problem

I had the same problem on my small boat, when i was trolling with mine, i locked the electric in the one positition then dropped my engine leg down and used the motor like a rudder.

This worked pretty well and i was able to steer the boat at the console rather than at the back of the boat.

This might not solve your problem, but it worked for me.

Cheers Grant..
