Where to stay in Quobba

So first Quobba trip is only a few days away, super excited! Looks like a massive place with lots of options so looking for some idea's on where is best to stay.

Mainly going for the ballooning so somewhere near some good ballooning ledges would be good. Could do with a freezer to use so guessing that leaves only quobba station or red bluff? Hookup may be good as well but not essential. Could always base myself near a freezer then head off somewhere else for a night or 2.

Any recommendations  guys n girls?

Quobba options

Tue, 2015-05-26 11:44

There are a few options at quobba see link - http://quobba.com.au/quobba-homestead/?page_id=30

May need to call them to see whats available this time of year as most booked out in advance.

We stayed at Smithies cottage. Does not have 24 hour power - only for the fridge/freezer.

Chalets have 24hr power but expensive.

They do have a feezer at the homestead which costs $15 per night.

They also have power and unpowered camp sites. You can only camp at the homestead. No camping allowed anywhere else on the station and Tim (The owner) does fly his ultralight to check if anyone is camping illegally.

Good info mate. Will be camping so guess that only leaves 1 option! I spoke to the homestead a few weeks back and they said no booking needed for camping. Just wasnt sure if there were other possibly better options!
