Fished whitehills last night in very windy conditions. From the outset 5pm the fish were on the chew. Hoping for tailor and mulloway we were surprised when by 7pm we had our bag. Not of tailor or mullas but pinkies.
A few guys up the beach also got amounst them.
All up we caught 10 with afew dropped fish right up to 11pm. By then the fish were still there but had become timid.
Tailor were scarce with one caught and afew small soapies in the mix.
The pinks weren't fussy on baits with a mix of mulies, herring, tailor fillets and whole whiting doing the damage.

They look to be good sizes, too...and the eating quality would be a definite upgrade over tailor/mullaway!

Mate that is an amazing session off the beach for White Hill.
Bet that's gonna get some crew down there keen to just get one pinky off the beach.

Not so much of a surprise to
Not so much of a surprise to catch a snapper as we got one about a month ago slide baiting a live herring. Suprising was the quantity of the fish.
Its amazing the amount of traffic the place sees, even on a windy day. From guys fishing to guys flogging there 4bys through the dunes. Hopefully it stays accessable for alot longer.

i have only ever seen one one pinky from the beach, back way back 1990. Well done on that haul, a session to remember.
Shit I've berlyied Whites all night once and couldn't even get a herring.

Speaking of berly did you chum up early on to get them on the chew ? Dunno how much time in my youth did my mates and i waist down there getting sandblaster and all. And usally for F all.
But we did enjoy the refreshments lol

Mate had 2 or 3 casts for first fish. Didnt have time to get the berly going. Usually we berly hard.
Have fished a fair bit down there over the last 6 months. Been getting afew tailor and sharks. Hoping for a mulla, no luck on that front yet. Got a big 6ft shovelnose last time.
As l said we picked up a snapper on a live herring a month ago which we were stoked with at the time so theres akways hope with the outer reef there.
Right place at the right time l suppose.
I joked with my mate at the time he hooked the 8th pinky. I said pinky, he said yep, l said yawn.
