whiting on stickbaits

hi guys, i want to get into some whiting popping, what are good times, spots, seasons, lures ect. i herd that mandurah estuary is good. thankyou, any help will be good.

ther were more whiting then blowys for once (believe it or not)

Hey mate,
Generally speaking 'whiting on poppers/stickbaits' is a summer fishery. As we come into the colder months the water cools down quite a bit and in turn the whiting go into lazy cruise-control mode. That warm water and those bright sunny days are what get them so fired up to the point where they will nail poppers and stickbaits without a second thought.
As for spots, the flats that surround the peel inlet in mandurah are perfect haunts for chasing whiting during those warmer months. You want clear, fairly warm knee-deep water and some clear/lightly coloured surface lures such as skinny pop jr or ecogear px40's / px45's.
If you are chasing lures come in and take a look, we stock quite a few that would be well suited for all your whiting needs.
