Wild weather In Bass Straight!

This was sent to a mate of mine.

In Bass Straight (I was told)

"we had 14m seas  with 80+ knots on sunday

the ' wave pic' is underneath Marlin-A (the rig on the far right of the first pic) its not a 14m meter wave but sorta gives an idea.

there is a whole deck under water covered by the wave

Crazy to watch it go from relatively flat to psycho in just a couple of hours - mother nature is one powerful beast!!"

Memories

Brings back memories of when we brought a trawler over from NZ, though wind only got to around 50 knots but swell up to between 14 and 18 metres. Not a trip I'd recommend to do .

I'm meant to be heading down

Sat, 2012-06-09 20:09

I'm meant to be heading down to the Nan Hai in a few weeks hope things settle before then.  They look like jack up rigs so a bit more stable than a jack-up rig.

Sorry too many red wines. Meant to say more stable than a semi submersable.
