He then had to give another sample.
The rules are quite clear - taint a sample andvthats as good as a positive test, for obvious reasons.

The kicker seems to be that if he just copped the test, he A. Wouldn't have been tested for rec drugs as ASADA don't if it's not match day OR B. Got 'caught' with rec drugs in his syetm and copped at worst a smack on the bum aka AFL being informed and the club doctor and being sent to some half asses drug counselling. Instead he is staring down the barrel of a 4 year ban.
Yep, that would be enough to get me on a plane in tears to Darwin. Career, finances, repuation (his own and family) and letting down uncountable people vs a tap on the bum! Could be the biggest fuck up of all time. With all the drugs info clubs cram down players throats its hard to see how he messed this up, even being an indigenous fella from 'the bush' - stress will make you do dumb shit.

update
Hearing today that he used the drink as a substitute because he couldn't push out a piss! They did a blood test anyway and there was no sign of any drugs (illicit or PED). Still makes no sense why he would do it but may be a lesser sentence if that was the case.
