Winter blue manners

G'day all

Im just trying to chase some info on how or where to look to catch a few blue manner crabs. Ive only ever scooped them in the summer but im guessing that isn't gonna work this time of the year so drop nets would be the go but what do i look for in a spot? Just drop them in some deeper water or is there more too it? I would prefer to chase them in the swan but dont mind going down to mandurah if thats my best bet. Cheers

I've got a few blue manna crabs diving, they seem to be in around 8m. Biggest recently went 180mm across the back.

Are you getting them in shallows or in deeper water?

Catch em in around 10 - 15 ft of water straight out in front of the marina.

Lower reaches of the Swan

Lower reaches of the Swan River ie Blackwall Reach and Mosmans Bay. Near jettys and morrings are where the mussels are and the crabs feeding. Depth 10-16m (depends) and New moon better. Plenty of oily bait like tuna heads etc is the go in getting a tasty feed of winter blues.
