Winter crays

Got out for a afternoon dive today in some pretty magic conditions above the water and some decent visibility below. Not heaps of crays about but much better than working and got a feed for our troubles

Surprised at your comment re vis
We were 14 NM of the back of Garden Island and water clarity was the worst I have seen in years .....milky as in 48 metres but weren't the conditions out there magic!

It was a bit weird I was
It was a bit weird I was expecting it to be rubbishy as there was a bit of swell about but the bottom was actually pretty clear. We were only in 20m, the top 10m were pretty dirty but the bottom 10 were much clearer.
Was pretty nice nice day though with zero wind.

I was in the 30s at Hillarys
I was in the 30s at Hillarys yesterday and the water was the clearest I think I've ever seen inside the 3 Mile it was pretty murky.
Pure magic conditions and I took Mum out for the first time and she got sea sick as hell and we had to turn in just as the fish came on the chew. Must have been the gentle bobbing in the swell that got her.
Officially off the Pies bandwagon

setting pots now
Is here anyone still setting pots south of the river and if so can you please tell me how you are going and in what depth of water you are setting in.
On these cold mornings I'm looking for a bit of incentive before I go back to setting ny pots out,
Thanks good people.
