Just love winter fishing. Over the last week have caught, Crabs, squid, whiting, snapper, cod, skippy, flathead, KG Whiting and Dhuie. Does it get any better than this?

Down south

Bunbury, 3 pulls bagged out. Started doing a log book for fisheries. Have to measure everything now. It's not too bad, at least it is the kids pulling the pots.

I much prefer fishing winter.

I much prefer fishing winter. The conditions are generally much better for fishing (except the cold) and the boat ramps are much quieter. The only people using the ramps are keen fishos and hardcore boaties, so there are minimal dramas at the ramps.

I do about the same all year

Tue, 2013-07-23 23:00

I do about the same all year around.

I do like summer because I love getting on the troll, did pretty well last summer on Tuna (mainly SBT and Bonito - both oriental and watsons leaping) and Kingys.

Wait until it is the middle of summer on a good day on the weekend. I avoid hillarys all together, every man and his dog who only launch their boat a handful of times a year are down there. Absolute shambles.

Wed, 2013-07-24 10:24

A guy i spoke to down Bunbury way seems to think all the crabs are females. Were you getting blues?

Here in Bunbury the winter

Fri, 2013-07-26 08:50

Here in Bunbury the winter crabbing is probably 99% jennies with only the occasional bluey. A customer was telling me last week he got his biggest ever bluey in koombana bay. The jennies are chock full of meat ATM. A mud crab was a bycatch a couple of weeks ago posted on fishwrecked.

Stay in front of the dolphin

Sat, 2013-07-27 08:27

Stay in front of the dolphin discovery centre & follow the edge of the shipping channel and 6m rope ok. The further out you go towards blinking billy , the ropes will need to be longer.
