Went down to my regular land based spot just for play with my new combo throwing various lures. I got my first hook up on the vibe, it was looking like a decent 30 until it fell off right in front of me, which was my fault really as it was getting dark and I let the line go slack, I was spewin!
Cursing myself I continued to cast with the light fading fast, I didn't feel confident anymore with my vibe thinking if there were any bream around they were probably too smart to go for the vibe again, so I change up lure wacking on a minnow. On my second cast my lure gets slammed on the pause and I knew this was gonna be good, with line peeling off with the sound of braid rubbing through the guides and with good splash near the end. I land the fish sliding it up on the ledge and I was a happy man with not only landing my biggest bream but my biggest bream on lure.
It went just over 40cm nose to tail.

Well done.
Great camera shots. The teeth one is excellent. Nice to see the new gear run in, drag work and all. May you catch it when it's bigger.

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

I used to catch heaps of bream years back and keep my share too, but nowadays they are getting much harder to catch I suspect from over fishing, or maybe it's just me :p
So now I never kill a black bream also now that I learned how old these fish are. I saw somewhere a chart of approximate ages of bream and am pretty sure a 30cm was aprox. 30yrs old.
