Found what seemed to be the only non-weedy beach north of Perth last night and managed to pull this sucker out .
caught at around 7 on a live whiting .
I usually return my mullys but this one wouldn't go back so was given to a local bloke down the beach , who was absolutely over the moon haha .

Cheers mate ! I had the same
Cheers mate ! I had the same doubts about whiting too but thats the second good mully I've got on them now . I think you would get the same results on any livey , but whiting are just the easiest to find and catch, north of Perth anyway. Every spot fishes different though, this spot in particular will only produce fish if you fish liveys , where as most of my other spots have produced the majority of the fish on stock standard muleys. It's just a matter of trial and error with different baits at different spots I reckon !

When they run do you strike?
When they run do you strike? I let mine run for a few seconds but every time they spat the bait.
Any tips helpful or none and I won't hold a grudge. I no how people are when it comes to mullys

yeh I don't generally let
yeh I don't generally let them run much mate , if I'm fishin in a rod holder I set the drag reasonably hard so they hook themselves as soon as they hit it , but still loose enough to let line out before they rip the rod holder out haha. If I'm holding the rod I have the drag set to how I would if I was fighting the fish and when they hit I give a decent pull just to make sure there hooked .
ive found that if you leave it too long without pressure on the hooks they will shake loose and pull out on the strike.
i believe that hookin up has more to do with hook presentation in the bait , as fishing a 4 ganged soft muley has a higher hook up rate then fishing a hard bodied livey with 2 snells in it, but both work well when prepared right .
I missed fish last night most probably due to poor hook selection , a bit too small for the job i reckon .
this is just my personal preference/opinion mate , Everybody has there own tips and tricks on how it's done and I guarantee somebody will suggest to do the exact opposite haha, but this has worked pretty well for me so far , hope it helps

Awesome effort I reckon
Awesome effort I reckon Whiting are an underrated bait. Used them up north with quite a surprising strike rate.
Love the West!
