Your busted! - Pinger

I was out NW on Sunday from Two Rocks......30km out in 40-45

swell dropped for long enough to get the pick to stick on a small remote coral lump which rises to 33m....it is not very big area at all.....cricket pitch...it was hard to get the anchor line angle/wind/current factors to come together so we ended up slight off it but still on a section of back ledge....then got the berley going

anyway this boat came from a distance away from the south .....we saw him change directions and start heading our way.....Frown

being very conscience of the fact we had a pick and a heap of rope out I was some what pissed when they came right over for a chat.....the driver asked if we had caught anything...I hand signed not much....me spewing he was about to run over my rope....he saw it at the last moment....only for the bloke standing next to him watching the sounder screen to give the driver a elbow in the ribs.

Next thing we know the driver spins around and gets on top of the lump.....obviously our berley was working!!!!!!!!

Anyway one of the deckies throws over what looked like a good size steel brake drum....with a rope and float attached!!!!! I shit you not I was gob smacked.Surprised....these scum sucking magots set them selves up a drift 20m from where we were anchored......Yell

looking for something to throw......we waited for the second drift a few minutes later to give them a mouth full.....

at a distance of only 20ft ...almost eye to eye, Im thinking of something rreally smart and cutting to say....and one of them gobs out...."ewes got anything yet off this lump........."

You could say that the next thing to come out of my mouth cant be repeated ....but they got the message......Yell.......

If anyone knows them ....can you please let them know I would be pleased to give the rest of my spots to them if they want them......please send their address to me via PM

Heaps of baby dhuies

Tue, 2008-11-11 09:05

like 5 in the 35-45cm range... eating little jigs....and heaps of baby snapper...odd sambo to 7-8kg

we ended up moving after the arguement.....because of the small fish and protential problems releasing them.....we had a RW........and I had to move because I would have done something I would regret later

we moved off about 500-600m ...noticed a school of bait getting smashed up by 5-6kg blues.....anyway they spent the next hour plus drifting it time and time again...

tonnies were very nervous....dive as soon as we got close to cast, very frustrating.

HEAPS of bait schools out there holding deep to midwater....

Secret Spots

Tue, 2008-11-11 11:18

I dont understand? If I was in the same situation I would have pulled the anchor when I saw them heading my way, I've had to do it twice off Bunbury but only on really good spots that I want to keep secret even if its a mungrel to anchor on.

Well if you stay on your spot and watch a boat drive right up alongside you, then I guess you deserve to be pinged. If I see a boat anywhere travelling or not I move, and come back later. I still have ground that nobody knows and it only because I am very protective of my ground .I have had boats follow me for hours and they got taken to some of the worst ground out there I hope they got plenty of marks that day.

hubbie done exactly what you've done, hard ugly coral, they would have lost a lot of gear.  its known as sinker ground, lots of lead out there (Leeman)

Tue, 2008-11-11 20:12

Not good to hear Andrew but when your on anchor your a sitting duck. For that reason i dont anchor and when drifting i'm a bigtime rubber necker. This guy needs to learn ettiquette but that goes over too many heads these days. Good onya for putting the pic up also......may make them think?!?
