Well we headed north from island head creek past strong tide passage about 8
mile to an island with an in coming tide pushing down from the north east.
We started popping for Gt's and after a short time one of the boys John got busted off on an easy 40Kg+ moster so we moved around the other side of the island a strted throwing some plastics around.
I hooked a Queenie that would have gone about 8kg but it threw the hooks on a jump after one lap of the boat,
Next hookup was em (plastic fantastic!) and it was obvious it was a good fish, it went for a few screaming runs on the 5-10kg rod and after about 10 minutes we saw the vivid blue colours appear from the depths.
It was a very solid fish not sure on the weight but you could guess about 7-8kg's
Needless to say she was one very happy lass.
We tried to release it but it was knackard so it was kept for dinner
What followed was about three hours of plastic action with HEAPS of trout, cod, queenies, tuskies and a surprise red emporer in 8 mtrs of water
What outfit did she catch it on???? Must have had some pull cos they go pretty hard.
Cheers
