Barra....on popper

Had a great day on Barra today... North Queensland secret spot. This 81cm fish took a "Super Blooper" that I've had for 18 years. Have only used it a few times but never got a fish on it. All the paint flaked off years ago, but the barra were going off on it today. Got four on the popper and dropped about another four. Awesome boofs on the surface!
cheers,
steve

Healthy
Looks like a healthy barra there Steve! What pound line were you using and was it from a stocked impoundment or a river?

Using 15 pound braid on
Using 15 pound braid on Shimano Chronarch with T-curve 6-8kg baitcaster. Beautifully balanced outfit. That fish was caught in a river, though you can probably tell from the tail colour there wasn't a lot of salt there.
cheers,
Steve

Nice Barra Steve!
Always great to get a capture on something that's been lying in your tackle box for a while. Just goes to show that the old gear can catch just as well as some of the new stuff.
Well Done.
