My least favourite shellfish. I've never had them where they weren't crunchy with sand/grit.
These were caught in the clean ocean Bod, tasted lovely.

They get called lots of things, but they're not really langoustines as they don't have nippers - think freshwater crays.
Basically they are prawns, I have had loads of them as my Dad used to buy them from the fishquay and still does.
As there are so many you keep the berried females, in fact I remember sucking the eggs off them.

Yes they are that common
They aren't lobsters. Lobsters are completely different.
Yes they are scampi (not pub scampi), very nice it is too.
If you take the poo tube from the back, you don't get any grit.
