Black Bream at Burswood

Black Bream at Burswood

42cm Black Bream, not a PB but just something to take my mind off the incident.

unless the pictures playing funny, that looks 30-33cm max to me.

My shoulder to shoulder

Tue, 2007-08-28 16:29

My shoulder to shoulder spand is 64.5 cm across so if I measured it correctly on the measuring ruler it went 42cm with the tip just passing by probably 1mm. But oh well its your opinion so its fair enough.

My reels screaming zzzzzzz.... awwww damn it, its another boat!

All the best for the future fishing trips.

Hmmmm, you must have fricken

Tue, 2007-08-28 16:47

Hmmmm, you must have fricken gigantic hands man...

cos it certainly doesnt look it when you compare that to all the other 40+cm bream pics on this site...

granted, i know photos always look pox when showing size.

The more I look at it, the more it looks bigger, but heh, must just be your hands being big, making the fish look small and the fish looks a bit skinny too.

*shrugs* Nice catch nevertheless.

Nice fish regardless of

Tue, 2007-08-28 17:24

Nice fish regardless of size! Some of these comments that are starting to arize when people are posting pics are uncalled for IMO! Some people like myself havent placed many photos due to reasons of coping a bit of shit, in other words more comments about whats wrong with the pic rather than whats right with it. We all know photos dont do fish justice and many of my PB photos dont look nothing like what they weighed or measured so i dont put them up. We are all honest people and ill beleive most when they say what the length is or whatever even if i think the truth is bent alittle.........you know what everyone says about fisherman and how big it was before release! hehehehe

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

Nice fish Jangles

Nice fish mate.

As for not posting up photos because of others opinions, thats just sad. This site is about fishing and the size of a person's fish or catch doesn't really matter. Its the fact they've enjoyed them selves and are willing to share some info or their experience with the rest of us.

Cheers,
Adam

Good one

Tue, 2007-10-23 15:12

Yeah I reckon it looks pretty decent. What are they like to eat? Comparable to tarwhine or different because they are river fish?

I love the black bream

Tue, 2007-10-23 15:35

I love the black bream caught out of southern areas like albany, denmark, walpole etc they are really sweet tasting fish but IMO the swan river ones arnt worth keeping but some say there alright. Tarwine from the ocean are not bad though. But couldnt say ive kept them for a far while as i only C&R most fish unless there alittle more tasty.

Black Bream!

Tue, 2007-10-23 15:52

Well the Blackies that come out of the Swan are fine but they do have a strong ocean scent. But compare them to Tarwhine I prefer keeping the Black Bream due to its firmer flesh, it really depends how you serve the dish as well. My mother tends to cook it in elfoil with Lemon Juice, Vege's such as Tomatoes, Red Onions and Tyme placed inside the stomach area when its all gutted and clean and then drizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil over the top and wrap it up and place it in the oven for a solid 20mins and presto! All done ready to feed the family.

Thats my opinion so yeah. Enjoy =].
