Broome Threadies
So first night back i hit up the local jetty in search of a barra but no luck i start talking to this french guy who is a chef working at the mangrove hotel and i could tell he was a keen fishermen having seen him before so not having a decky for the next day i invited him out for a fish he was very greatful.
We launched of willy creek and it wasn't long till he was sea sick but to be fair he didnt want to go in early while i tried to get some giant trevally past the sharks. Unfortunately could only manage some small flag and dark tail snapper.
so the next day we hit the bay instead and this time he was loaded up with sea sick tablets and coke. We get to the spot 7 boats already there i cut the motor and start the electric motor and place us in position with a few dirty looks given from the other boats as the french guy (Romain)
Casts his cooked prawn and 2 minutes later get his first threadfin salmon and a cracker too. He called it for a small fish but as soon as i saw the head on this thing i was calling for a metrey.
Fantastic to take someone boating in Broome and get them onto the fish defiantly the biggest caught that i saw and a few boats made the move to get closer to the mangroves after that.
