nice blacky mate. do you think the bigger ones seem to be around as the crabs start to come into season. I fish mandurah and from now to about jan i seem to do really well on fish 40+ the biggest last year was 51. i use a snapper rod with 30lb braid to land them. i use to use to standard bream gear but after losing rods over the side and getting broken off i went to the big bream gear... i thought at first i was getting smashed by mullaway but as i found out theyre big black bream. you got to study the area they live in ie structure, the bottom is it rocky or mud or sand. then work out what theyre feeding on. live bait muscles etc tides play7 a big part in the bream feeding once you put all this together and get the right combo get the big gear out and youll have success.
