Coral Trout caught of the rock groyne this morning!

Well, not working at the moment, is leaving me plenty of time for a fish. So after seeing Claire off to work, i headed down to our local rock groyne here at Groote. Tied on a trusty white ritcher plug, and started casting out a mile. After cranking the plug thru the water, with a penn 950 about 10 times i had a hit. After a few short runs..i was more than happy to land a nice coral trout at 44cm.(NOTE: no size limit on them in the NT) I was glad he decided to jump on then, as my poor old arms, only had a few casts in them. Boy you landbased guys do it tough..ha ha Looks like i have tea sorted for tonight

Ha ha
Ha ha! Will see if they are anymore there tomrw morning as well. Have had a couple of hits on the plug..there not to bad at all.
Pushing the boat in the water sat morning. Ive been told if you cant catch a tricky snapper in the channel straight out from the island, you might as well give up. Claire is excited as well, we will keep you posted.

too right
It was a great trout! And about time Wade earned his keep! He deserves some time off though and there's not better way to live it up than fishing here at Groote! Actually I'm at work now and I'm sure he's back on that groyne fishing...he better have taken a rod and chair down for me for when I knock off!
