its look like a queen snapper crossed with a dusky. what is it? looks big though nice fish

This one was outside the reef. Got a small one inside the reef whilst chasing spanglies.

Those are gold-band Jobfish Russ,
you often get Green Jobfish popping reef edges.

6 kg steve.They go well on the right line class.Given that he is at the outside of the reef i would say he was fishing up in class a bit.
So tell me have you got your info from years on the water or hours on the internet?
Thought it looked better than that, its a good fish. I guess it depends on the size of the dumbell popper...
We guessed at least 8kg.
