That's a hell of a fish. It would have been bigger than the boat.

yeah feral he did fight most

Sun, 2007-11-18 08:28

yeah feral he did fight most of the way. hense why he was too stuffed to revive, once hooked he tore off about 300 meter of line on the first run and jumped alot, was pretty spectular especially for down there, apparentyl a few get seen down there too feral, but a long way out no ones ever landed one except me but have been told they are there and this year the waters looking good plenty of baitfish out there already lots of tuna atm too so looking like a good game season imo

This just popped up as a random pic. What was the story behind it Matt? What were you targetting at the time?

was out targetting sharks

Thu, 2009-11-12 08:37

was out targetting sharks out of dunsburough all day using big dead slimey macs, on the way in to the Quindalup boat ramp we seen a small sahark cruising around so we threw the bait out, no shark to be seen, so after towing the bait around for a bit we decided that was it, i pulled the bait back to the boat and when i had the trace/swivel to the tip of the rod and was ready to pull the bait out of the water it came up and had a swipe at the bait, i let it back out and bang instantly it was on, an hour lately we got it to the boat(only 800m off the beach).

the fish couldnt be revived so it was kept weighed(82kg) and the head and skeleton donated to the fisheries for research
