You must have a big family to feed. Nice catch though. I love a feed of fresh Herring, particularly smoked.

The old herringbone pattern! Great pattern that. Sturdy and much better looking than the basketweave!

Smoked herring

 Was down at Augusta over christmas .the bloke next door had got a smoker for a chrissy present  .worked real well but there is only so much smoked herring you can eat .took two big jars of pickeld ones home ,non smoked .The sheoak sawdust was by far the better taste.the other ones we tried were mally and mesqite .good fun certainly worth a go.
