Fishing off the stones near walpole
Today was an early rise, and down to the Walpole town ramp to launch. ( As the bloody shire, and contractors cant get the shite together and sign off on the project at Colemine launch ramp) anyway...lovely conditions, and a little on the brisk side. My four other mates jumped in at the ramp..and we slowly snaked our way out the channel markers down the walpole inlet. As we hit the restpoint caravan park we chucked on some twisties and gathered some herring for bait, for later on. We hit hit the knoll, and then gave it heaps across the Nornalup Inlet to the start of the channel. It was a run out tide, the current was ripping thru so we took it easy till we got the house boat jetty near the river mouth. We tied the boat up there..gathered all our gear..and headed up the goat track, over to shelly beach. I have to tell you never be the person leading the pack thru a goat track..bloody spider webs every where!
We gathered some crabs for bait the headed, to the rocky head for some fishing. Was a pretty quite day all round, but i tell you we know how to catch wobbygongs..shit there like flys around there. We kept a few big cod, which were fun on a handline, and hopefully taste not to bad on the bbq tonight.
We spotted a albino dolphin next to us..but it turned out only to be charlie (Skin) diving for abalone..which was quiet a laugh. We got our bag limit of Roe and then made the trek slowly back around to the boat. We enjoyed a swim, and a couple of frosty ones, before heading back.
We didnt clean up on the fish, but just being out there today..fairly beat the hell out of my best day at work!

Yes
Yes we went out there one day, but didnt score anything. Was crappy weather, 2.5m swell and blowing pretty hard from the south west. Tides have been crappy this week, with the lows in the morning..making getting out the mouth hard. We geared up to go out one day, but when we saw surfers parked up on the sand bar, surfing near the channel, we gave it a miss. Today was the best day by far, but murfs law you organise 4 people for a day of rock hopping. Oh well off to Albany tomrw..things can only get better

Now
Now that sucks! Like holding a bag ice in front of a junkie..and saying dont touch it. surely the "Im just heading down to the shops to grab the paper" trick could work.

bloody weather!
its hard to get some nice days down that way for a days fishing offshore. The swell is not so bad provided that wind stays down. Last trip to PB, we got one fishable day to get the boat offshore and that was in a 3m swell.......a boat load of red snapper made it worthwhile though.
Such a beautiful part of WA, I hope it never changes.
