Free swimming mackeral

Was observing some big snook harassing hardie heads and then i saw a big fin thinking it was a dolphin but then quickly realized it was spanish mackeral looking for a feed. Just to the left of south mole right where bathers beach is. Just after this happened the breeze came in. Thought i was up north for a second with all the action

where is the rod, live bait
where is the rod, live bait skipping out on a balloon when you need it. such a tease seeing that. that spot looks like a likely squidding & whiting hunting ground.

I probs woulda gone home got the rod caught a makie then posted said makie instead. Haha there will be balloons and stick baits everywhere there tonight. Seems they have hit the coast north south and everywhere in between.

My gear was 36 km north by the time
i would have got it the mackeral would have been in Margaret river. haha was pretty cool seeing it and yes caught a few kgs and good sand whiting there before and if you have a kayak its very good squidding
