Jigging/live baiting
Hey all,
Headed out of town with Graham(Grayzee) to suss out some new gound.Overall it was a promising start to the day with some good soundings and a few fish coming over but no real keepers. At about 9am the fishing went dead. With us both starting to get a bit worried with the esky still empty bar a skippy. At around 11am had just hooked up and was cursing having to retrieve another small fish from 50 meters of water until it was smashed. After being loaded up for about 10 seconds he spat the baker and i just left it hanging there hoping he would come back for another try. Luckily he wanted another piece of it so i freespooled for a few seconds to make sure that he got it down and hooked up solid. Measured in at 93cm and 12.5kg. So there it was my first dhu on bait in a long time.Happy days

Great fish Chris. Caught a 17kg cod the same way but on a 25cm black snapper off Monkey Mia a few years ago. It's a pleasant surprise going from the weight of a small fish to line pulling joy.

Nice work mate. Duties as deckie well and truly done.
Those bakers sure are dhu candy.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.
