Late Arvo Snap

Late Arvo Snap

Had a fairly successful arvo with JohnF. Scored multiple rat sambo; bringing them to the surface & dropping plastics on their heads. We landed several snapper, sambo's & dhu.

All using the 6lb bream gear which has been very enjoyable. Note, standard TT jig heads are rubbish. It was a cold ride home!!!

Nice work skipper.....I may be a dud angler, but at least I take a pretty good photo.

Was a great arvo session, packed full of action and laughs.

SamC, thanks for the loan of the Certate 2500R......its a wonderful little reel, will be adding one to my collection.

Would of been a heap of fun on that gear mate. I'm gonna lighten all my snapper gear this season, I reckon its the way to go to get a bit more fun out of your fishing. Great effort!

Patty, I believe lightening

Patty, I believe lightening your gear will result in more hook ups too. Lures sink easier & work better & there's limited line resistance throughout the water column when using lighter gear... it's just a more finesse approach. The biggest bonus is the fun factor of course.

At the end of the day, snapper are just big shy bream.

Good point made there Daz , I dropped my braid 20 lb and have noticed alot more feel in takes and hook up rate has been quite good. It is finese work but I find that you have alot more feel for what is happenin on the other end of the line. Plus the fight of the fish is taken slower instead of pumping them straight up out of the blue giving them also a better chance of survival and less signs of barotrauma and other side effects. And I wish snapper were shy bream ha.
