Lost my spearing mojo

Lost my spearing mojo

When the wind dropped out yesterday arvo I decided to go for a spear in the gulf with the plan to get a trout for tea. My last 3 dives have resulted in me stuffing up 2 very nice bluebone and even the trout have been pretty flighty. Anyway vis was average and I was about to give up when I saw a shape cruise past me. I thought it was a shark but soon realized it was a macky. I had a crack and managed to stick the spear and after a bit of underwater tug of war managed to get back to the surface with both gun and fish still in my hand. I was wrapped to land my first speared macky at 120cm but don't think I'll be shooting any bigger without a float line though. At least the freezer is looking better now. ps still no trout.
