makos taste amazing

makos taste amazing

headed out and scored a cple of quick 8 kg dhuies, moved around to a big lump a cple miles away and scored some nice nannys quick session, released a cple of dhuies and this mako decided to try to eat the release weight, then it grabbed a mutton bird, dropped in a line and hooked the fella, was a lot of excitment on the boat once landed, had it fresh tonight with lemon & herbs with friends with dhuie, and it definately was much nicer than dhu,

great mornings fun,

oh yea matty

we got to our spot, and plenty of fish showing, marks rig didnt even hit the bottom, he scored the 1st dhuie within seconds of being there, we had our 2 dhuies within 15mins, moved from there to another cave area I have previously caught snapper on,  BIG school of dhuies & nannies  there, we got 2 nice snapper with very small gear, also released 2 more dhuies , then we tailed it in, the mako followed the release weight back up..

'"was" mate haha, he was cute little fillets also,

yeah probably micky, i remember also that same week there was a white there 5m or so, and farrell was trying to feed it skips /herring etc, was in the paper back then it wouldnt take no fish, just ate props , haha, never dived it since but at the time the dive was mazing, almost like the stonehendge, fish everywhere, I used to fish it in me tinny yrs n yrs ago, caught john dory, pinkies even landed a size dhuie, but bream and skippy are prolific,

ring u this week for a fish next weekend, got a big week at work so the fish are safe.. :-)

Sun, 2011-01-16 21:40

did you find the meat to be very red Harro ??

i got one wide last year in 120m and when it was filleted the meat reminded me of herring .. very red compaired to most other sharks .. did know if mine was normal or just an odd coloured flesh .. the deckies loved it anyway ..

Call me paranoid or whatever,

Sun, 2011-01-16 22:03

Call me paranoid or whatever, but i reckon that 5mtry is a resident that cruises it's migration path and always shows his face in shark alley !!!

Regular as clockwork, every year,

do you remember the bakers from Busso who were spearing on the bubble, with a catch bag full of burley, 3 or 4 years ago ?

Uncle White turned up and turned their new xmas boardies mud brown.

They hung on the bottom untill the monolith got bored and pissed off, then done the bolt onto the deck, where they cried uncontrollably, steamed home and sold the boat

It's the same beast i tell ya
