Monday sickie report

Monday sickie report

Felt pretty crook on monday (cough, cough) took the lads out for a muck around and fished four different spots till about 10:30 ish but were just feeding the wrasse and letheries, nada.On the way back I found a strange plateau looking thing about the size of a house only 9 mile out rising from mid 30's to 19ish. Got the whole lot in about one hour. Me thinks I wont fish that spot for a year or so. Heaps of undersize snaps as well as the one in the pick. I dont know if the lump is rock or something else. It looked like a box on the sounder but it is way too big to be a container(s).

Cheers,Nemo

Sashimi buddy, perfect white

Sashimi buddy, perfect white flesh, just be very careful when filleting and wear heavy gloves when removing the sides. Wrap the waste in heaps of layers of newspaper becase you dont want to get stung taking the garbage out.

Did you get away with it? I learnt the hard way years ago not to go have fun (On a sickie) Was a super hot day and thought f..k it im gonna go for a snorkel instead.

Pity my boss thought it was a good day to take his boat out and spied me diving for mussels in the Swan. Trust me to have such a distinctive Mug on my headFrown

Any Way The mussels went down a treat with chilli but ended up like a feed of maccas i totally regretted it afterwards. I had the worse case of food poisoning ever! Had to go to the docs and get him to scribble me an excuse.

A week later my boss goes wtf i saw u swimming in the water a week ago whats your story. I never lived that one down and have never eaten shellfish out of the swan since and that was like 20 years ago.

Theres also nannygai which look similar, and swallowtail, and some other species with a yellow eye (forget the proper name). I think the size limit on all of them is 30cm though (but not 100% sure from memory)

Your one definately looks

Mon, 2010-03-15 12:09

Your one definately looks like a red snapper. Nannigai look fairly similar, but I think they dont have the white stripe?

In the first pic, yeah, tails are longer, so could be swallowtail? Bag limits and size limits are the same for all Centroberyx species though. So min 30cm and max 2 in the bag. Probably a good idea due to the confusion between exact species.

Yep, at least that's what it seems from the rule book. I assume Rubys are in the same category.
