yeah it looks nice but how would it be in the real conditions, with swell and seas it would be a bit of a wet ride

well guys cruises 26- 30

Thu, 2010-09-16 12:18

well guys cruises 26- 30 knots load depending tops out at 50 knots 427 l fuel 60 l water. Hull built of vinylester with stitched cloth full klegecell foam core internals.weight 700 kg bare hull waterline 24 ft 27 ft with pod 24 degree deep v 8.4 beam. 80 l ballast tank mercury racing trim tabs 250 verado transom step and planing plank. This hull is built to be driven hard regually cruises from Cairns to Llinden bank to troll for pelagics 45 mile 1 way in 1-2.5 metrre swell with a Short sharp chop on top wind average 15 -30 knots year round Nth QLD

Yes she can be a little wet at times but what centre console isn,t  doesnt like following seas at slow cruising speed this is a hull built for performance trim it in set the tabs fill the ballast tank and on the pegs get up on top of the water and hammer. If it is a glass out trimit out 1 speed flat out this hull has flare very deceving picture not as much as a Fury ,Formula and black watch which is a flopped formula hull, as is a pmy 24 or mako as i am led to believe. This hull is very different in design and driving them is a different style to traditional hull as the for mentioned and all so trophy wellcraft etc all have big flare they tend to drop in to troughs and use this flare to pop out so does the monster but not as gracefull it is a true hi-performance hull it is built with driving hard in mind and sitting on top of the water if it drops to the trough she all ways seems to pop out doing so quicker  than most because of that fine entry and pointy bow . We try to build our boats different to other builders hence the retro look. I have owned 2  Formula fished in Trophy,s plenty and would not compare any of them all different hull designs all handle great the monster is for me now as i still have the speed bug we do have plans to extend this hull to 27 waterline length add sheer line, freeboard and widen the beam too 9,2 retaining the 24 degree dedrise to retain performance all going well i will have my new 24 here next year once the ski race boat sells and get on with the fun job of fitting out cant wait to explore the westcoast.

Everyones different. If

Everyones different. If  you want the perfect fishing platform you would buy a ali boat, hope ya back and knees hold up. If you want a cross between fishing and cruising with shelter you would buy a cuddy. If you want a no holds barred fishing weapon that pisses you would buy one of these beasts.Who cares about getting wet when your doing 35kn over 2.5m chop.Tongue out

Looks awsum Nico . . Weve got the last PMY 24  built by Peter Milner Yachts before they closed  down .Really nice bit of kit it is too :-) The moulds are still in Henderson at another boat builder but I dont think theyve built any yet. Shame really because its an awsum rig.

hey marble love your rig

Thu, 2010-09-16 23:14

hey marble love your rig have spoken to paul at northshore many times but i cant afford to buy a hull at his asking price$$ it is a modified formula hull in my top 3 all time favourites i have considered a old formula or 773l Haines Hunter if not familiar with the 773 it is a formula with a sharper fore foot and entry  with a planning plank on the bottom and same convex chine and deep freeboard check boatpoint.com.au if curious  only reason i am more than likely going to get a monster is i can build it for cost of materials only  though driving over then towing back turns me off about $2200 return 14 days no pay to boot and at $6,000 to transport one over doesn,t excite me either but this is the best option and maybe a chance to sell a couple here in perth i want a quick turn around so i can go fishing cruise rotto and explore the west coast now thats living .  Smile
