More hillaries boat ramp action

Seeing Wadetolleys pic at hillaries reminded me of what greeted me at the hillaries ramp the other day.

This bloke dropped his boat a little short of the water

I like the "Private Investigator" feel of the photo. I imagine when your boat is on the bitumen cameras aren't really appreciated.

Saw a certain sea rescue

Fri, 2010-11-05 12:16

Saw a certain sea rescue boat dropped in way to shallow on the ramp the other day. Had to use the tractor to push it deeper. A $300,000 boat sitting on concrete wasn,t a pretty sight.

Certainly was. The guy on the tractor obviously had never put it in before and just didn't go deep enough. The other guy in the boat was on the radio and and didn't realise he had dropped it a bit short. No damage was done luckily there's quite a bit of sand over the concrete. Not always easy for these guys to find volunteers. Felt a bit sorry for the guy on the tractor he had just given up his arvo to go and help bring back a boat that had got away from its mooring.

Thu, 2010-11-11 18:59

I have to laugh - Only cause my Dad did this once.  Fortunately I learnt from his lesson (and not damage done) -  (fortunately I wasn't there at the time too)...

Cheers

Paul
