Awesome GT mate. One day I'll get one like that off Exmouth. Gonna go for a GT hunt tomorrow, explore a land based spot I've heard of off Point Samson.
Not holding my breath Sherb, quietly confident, but I'm just happy to suss out a spot I've heard some good reports about. I don't think it's really the right time of year but I'll give it a shot.
Some of us are heading up to Exmouth in Sept to coincide with the best time , weather , moon etc for GT's land based , this time I will be armed with PE5 ( 70 LB )braid not the 30 lb fireline like last time, I only managed a couple with the biggest going 15 kg approx, also got some home made poppers for them to destroy.
I was just wondering if you change the trebles and split rings on your poppers as we here in Aust change 95% on our lures.
I havn't tried the big Halco Haymakers yet and I have heard they have some good hardware on them.
maverick, don`t muck around mate. don`t known bout the gt`s in oz, but these mosambique trains
have zero respect for standard gear. only plugs that held out was our local Aubrey da Gama`s. and only just!!!! tight lines.
What dates are you heading to Exmouth mav? I'm thinking about going down around then. would be good to catch up with some other FW members. Some sessions down the oysters with some other forum members would be good.

Great fishing
Now that would be awesome fishing Tagem. Is 10kg line the norm or was this one out of the box?

Standard split rings and trebles Brendon? You know they're ok, but not for the bigs ones.
I bought mine unrigged, as I found out they sell em w/o splits and trebs, owner 4/0s seem to fit them well, 5/0s seem a bit big.
Easy to pop, decent to cast, sits very nicely on the water. But then again, this is mr. internet-fisherman-i-havent-landed-my-first-GT speaking :P
