Yes i worked on the prawn trawlers for a while...in the Gulf of carp and Kimberlys. In tiger prawn season you only trawl at night..so the day is for sleeping. But being the keen fisherman i am..i would skip the sleep and get the skipper to anchor us over a lump 4 the day. Then i would put every hand line i had in the water..and i was in heaven...if you ever have a chance to fish up that way, dont turn it down!
Hope you were wearing gloves wade, I've pulled decent sized skippy in with a handline and hands were cut to ribbons. Nothing worse that a running fish at the end of a line that is buried in a previous line cut! Ouch LOL

got to love groote ... used to trawl that area as well ..... hmmmm fresh morton bay bugs *drool* loved the mack and trout fishing there .... the vanderlin (sp) islands was my favorite fishing spot :)
