Oh is that what that fish
Oh is that what that fish is. Well in that case I fished a spot in Freo 2 weeks ago that had BIG Knife fish and MASSIVE buff bream.
I'm talking 2kg+ fish in around 3-5m of water.
I was squidding, so didn't have gear strong enough for those bad boys.
Probably need a boat rod as the distance to the water is a 2m drop.

Mixed bag of lollies.
Im claiming longest post jump start , 10 years ! At first glance thought it was a boarfish , now they are nice eating , mate has shot the odd one while crayn.
Have eatn those sweep in the past too , maybe when I was less fussy and they were fine.
I also say those queenies are underated too , but I believe after eating a few that on day of capture is when they are best.
But my vote for the best fish in the group is that sambo ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, mmm sambo haha
nah , baldy by a long shot followed by dhuy

Agree...Nothing wrong with
Agree...Nothing wrong with Sweep, including banded, depending on your day as they dont add to the bag limit...fresh fish is fresh fish, bleed and straight on ice the flesh comes up good. Wife loves queen snapper, don't think they freeze too well but fresh are good.

sweep fillets are good eating
sweep fillets are good eating
id be willing to bet if you did a mixture of goujons of the fillets of say sweep , snapper , harly , queenie and black arse , cut them up , battered them . cooked them off salt & pepper and then presented them allmixed up on one big platter with a good tartare sauce or sweet chilli mayo most punters would not pick the difference between them in taste or texture or be able to accuratly pick which strip was which once cooked like that
