my first harpuka

finally cracked the harpuka hoodoo! usually watch every one catch puka whilst i catch grey band! but sunday was different hitting the mark with this nice 12kg puka! beautiful day on the water topped off by whales circling and playing around the boat!

it was the fuel pump!! not sure why it went after 400 hours no signs of water and hadnt been run dry! pain in the ass to change though! leg off motor out! not looking forward to the bill!

the biggest ive seen was around 20kg
but wikepedia says commonly around 25kg but can grow to 100kg

depth
was between 220 and 260 metres on a bit of a lump with a nice ledge beside it!
