not the fairytale fishing trip
Hello back from exxy a few days early due to the weather! Howling NE winds prevented the 4.75 m trailcraft from veturing out to the spots we wanted to drag lures until late in the afternoon most days. Still landed a few fish, some nice trout and a few small macks the bigges only going 96cm. Saw a free jumping sailfish and quite a few whalesharks which was great.
Only got to fish for a couple of hours on the last day again due to swell and plenty of wind, made it for hard going but managed to catch my first fish on a skirt (pink and black adam) it was half a tuna, well almost half. Caught plenty of snapper/small red bass/jobfish and the usual exmouth species but nothing really big. Anyway had a great time, will pick a different time to go next year and hopefully fullfill the sailfish quest then.
Cheers

Coronation
Nice little Coronation there Brad. That would have tasted sweet as.
Did you dive in with the whale sharks? I did it two years ago when we came across a couple. Bloody awesome!

Good stuff Brad
Good stuff fellas, looks like you got into a couple, I didn't realise you were only in town for such a short period, otherwise I would have battled through the hangover on Sunday to have a few more and shoot the shit a bit.
Did you manage to get up to the bank on Wednesday or was it too windy?

Yeah we got up there, we just trolled all the way up the coast, was still really windy probably a little more exposed around there because of the northerly. Didnt bother trying to drift in the swell mainly for the comfort factor, just trolled back along the back of the reef, got a few hookups still. Will be down for longer next time.
