well these things happen when you get a bunch of blokes together down the beach. if we had a salmon in the esky and not a bunch of beers i would have tried for a POTM. we tiped the old girl back over, cracked an extremley throthey beer and continued to our fishing spot.

Ha ha had one of those short wheel base FJ's years ago and I think all my mates owned it at least once. Needed to tow a 44 behind it to keep it topped up with fuel.

No we are in East freo now , and the fj45 arkana van ( perth body building company) has gone too.

Those vans were made in W.A , long before toyota did a troopy (1973 i think)

for the mines.

I spoke to a old employee of arkana once and he said 1971 was just about the first one they did

and only the first few came with the mismatched rear windows.

They were fj45 long wheel based well bodied utes with steel sides and rear with a fibreglass roof ( mine was steeled out)

Anyhow , that dude had a brand new pair of green and white arkana badged mudflaps in his shed, that he had kept

all those years which he donated to me, you can see them in the photo.

crezz is the man, just roll her back over and go 4wding!
