nice fish mate. imo, keeping it wasnt the greatest idea. the bigger ones are extremely dry. swap it for 5 smaller ones - 40cmish and it would be worth it.
Caught one at 81cm and around the 5kg mark a long time ago, was bled, filleted into large sections and thrown on a bbq that evening, tasted great, wasnt dry.
I think you'll find all over cooked fish is dry. Oh and im not really a fan of eating tailor.
Hey buddy. believe it or not was using this crappy Jarvis walker 1-3kg flicky with 10lb mono. As a Joke to get the boys psyched I slapped 2 snelled 9/0 mustard hooks an 2 fillets of fresh herring. The tailer swallowed it right down easily. Real spin out to c wat can happen at 'hillarys marina north wall' shhh... Still getting over it. Good luck. Send us some ov ur catches!!
u lucky bugga at a guess would have gone bout 6 - 6.5 kg whole what rig / bait did u get it on ? that is green back size (re post few days ago ) goen after some of those tomorrow where i have caught a few over the years
