For the surfers out there
Submitted by beau on Sun, 2011-08-28 23:03
Been a while since I seen any surfing photos on the site, I know its a fishing forum but i know alot of members are keen surfers and bodyboarders.
The barrel is actually longer than what is shown here, I just couldnt fit all the photos from the sequence along the bottom.
Not bad for metro hey

Very nice shot. Was out thu
Very nice shot. Was out thu at cities, but didnt see any quite that big or quite that nice. Did manage a couple of barrels myself at least, plus got a nice shot of one of the guys barreled.

Great series of shots there Beau
Boy; I wish I was young again. I can clearly remember the thrill and adrenaline rush from surfing some of the breaks at Kalbarri, Horrocks and the SW. I never did get to surf the Perth metro though. In those days sharks were something to be wary of but didn't phase us. Now I shit myself at the very word SHARK! LOL

I'd be more worried surfing
I'd be more worried surfing Kalbarri or down south about sharks. At the end of the day, you're chance of getting attacked is astronomically small. Significantly smaller than dying in a car crash on the way to the beach, or choking on a chicken wing or heart disease.
So, is the incredibly small risk worth giving up all that the ocean has. That's the bigger risk. Besides, anyone who has been tubed, knows its an easy decision :p

Exactly!
We were more scared/concerned about the sets rolling in from the outer reef structures. Paddle, paddle. No time to worry about anything else!

Well, you are much more
Well, you are much more likely to drown surfing than get eaten by a shark.....
And damn those sneaker sets. Think you're in the right spot, then something big looms and you're thinking "crap, crap, am I going to make it under and get cleaned up". And they're always bigger than what you're catching :p

I heard somewhere the other
I heard somewhere the other day more people die in toilet accidents than shark attacks...? Not sure what constitutes a toilet accident though?
