West Side Festivus

Headed over to the west side today to help Deepwater fill the empty void that is his freezer. Seeing as it is a festivus mood we had our "Feats of Strength" and only used conventional reels (no electrics). 4 drifts later we'd had enough of rubies and cod (greyband and comet cod) so we hit up another spot in the 100's. It was Red Throat central but we managed a goldband and a nice coronation trout. The highlight however was a lit up little marlin chase the goldband up so I left it in the water while I rigged a big Mcarthy soft plastic (10"???) which the marlin hit and swam off with. Unfortunately I was using light gear and couldn't set the hook so my "cast billfish soft plastic cherry" remains intact.

Nice work guys. Bad luck with the marlin. Maybe switch baiting with large SPs could be worth a go.
Whats the fish at the top of the page?

your guess is as good as ours. It had features of a fusilier, buff bream, and something else and was caught on bait in 115m. I've got a better pics, I'll do some research

Very nice Tim. You guys have the life up there. Unlucky with the marlin, that would have been a story and a half.
