did it smell when you cleaned it colin, not the most nicest fish to clean and eat, pretty bad when you catch them and they shit all over you and the boat too ewwww very messy

It didn't smell too bad. Bit like a luderick or drummer know that I think of it. So it most likely was a Buff. Though it didn't have a black tail. Fought alright for a sigh its size.

Looks like a silver drummer if you ask me buffies look a lil different but that is quite a small one and ive really only caught 2-3kg so might look different at that size

lure was top water, in a
lure was top water, in a retreival as I had just hooked up to a tailor but lost it a few minutes prior... I only got it halfway up the cliff face when the hooks pulled and it fell back into the water so I wasnt actually able to see whether it was jagged or actually gunning for the lure but id say, considering how I was working the lure top water for tailor and it came up from below to grab it, id say it actually grabbed it
Which is why its damn wierd!
