You have to drop the rod tip down to get it under the canopy and in the process poke your deckies eye out. Plus with the rocket launchers up above the canopy you have to climb on the gunnels to get access to your spare rods.
Don;t get me wrong, I love the boat, but that issue drove me insane the first year I had the boat. Finally decided to drop th eextender and for the extra sun trade-off it is heaps easier to fish from.

Looks like a 5.8m like mine
Looks like it has the top canopy extender same as mine, but I took mine down as it gets in the way when fishing more than two on the boat.
