I was absolutely stoked!! I didn't actually play like a dhu first up and took off a hundred mile and hour but yes the that first glipse of colour from the clear blue depths was pretty special. Once I saw the fish the legs i admit went a little jelly with excitement but thats just fishing. It went just 16kg. Couldnt quite pip Leanne's biggest. Bloody fat female full of roe.

I got a small dhu that went in the esky first drop of the day. Took about five seconds on the bottom and I was on!!

You wait till you see the movie that will show you how excited I was!! Hopefully have the video of the dhufish and manta rays ready to send to you early feb.

Furuno and Depths

Hey Andy it was about 28 to 30m of water around the ten to twelve mile area. I did see the tuna feeding and a heap of bonito schools!! I sent an email to Adam asking about Furuno sounders and have been interested in buying one. He said that you had just purchased one. What model? how much? and whats your opinion.

you must have been on some good ground.  we have just bought a FCV-600L which is the base model colour sounder. i work in a marine shop so i know a bit about them, ive only had it out once but im pretty happy it, i dont know anyone we have sold one to that has dissapointed. they are about the $1400 mark. with the transducer set up properly they pick up the bottom at 15kts.  really clear picture just take a bit of time to learn how to use them properly.

even with a furuno still no jewies!!!!
